Staff Development / Training Descriptions


CPI Training (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention): The strategies taught in this training program provide staff members with an effective framework for decision making and problem solving to prevent, de-escalate, and safely respond to disruptive or potentially violent behavior. Emphasis is on the prevention of aggressive acting-out behavior through identifying individual behaviors that may escalate into dangerous situations.


SESP/IEP Training: This training will be a comprehensive overview of the ins and outs of the SESP on-line IEP program. Will review the process for developing and IEP, using the G/O Binder, how to effectively use the MIS Summary page and MIS Module, make queries, develop lists/reports, export, and troubleshooting.


Paraeducator Training: In this training staff will be provided with effective techniques on how to work with students in small groups and on an individual basis in order to best meet each students needs. District expectations will also be reviewed.


Campus Supervisor Training: In this training staff will be provided with effective techniques on how to ensure a safe environment for all students, including ways to spot and de-escalate potential issues before they occur. District expectations will also be reviewed.


After School Program Training: This workshop is to review and learn positive student behavior support and creative lesson planning techniques that will enhance the after school program. Staff will also review the After School Program Staff Handbook and expectations will be discussed.


Aeries Overview Training: This training will review the Aeries system and provide an opportunity for office staff members and administrators to become familiar with its use.


Aeries Teacher Training: In this training teachers will be provided with an overview of the teacher portion of Aeries, the district's new student information system (taking the place of PowerSchool). The main topics will be the basic use of the Aeries system and how to take attendance. Grade book training will be provided once the school year starts.
