The School Psychologists at Southern Kern Unified School District are an integral part in the development of overall student achievement and success.  They are continuously collaborating with educators, service providers, parents and other professionals in order to meet the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of all students. One of the primary duties of the school psychologist is to conduct assessments for any student when there is suspicion of a disability.  School Psychologists conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, conduct interviews and observations in order to develop a comprehensive picture of a students' functioning, identify school-related difficulties and to facilitate learning and development.  School psychologists assist in the development, training, and implementation of intervention strategies.  In order to address the whole child, school psychologists, also, address social-emotional issues through counseling, functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans.
